Through both river tours and group presentations, we work to educate folks around our native beaver population and the work they do to replenish our groundwater, provide fire refugia, and increase the quality and quantity of water in our creeks and rivers.

Monitoring
With the help of our incredible team of volunteers, we perform ongoing monitoring of beaver dams on the Salinas River. We are also in the process of establishing a water quality monitoring program in partnership with Drinkable Rivers.

Annual Beaver Festival
Since 2023, we have hosted an annual San Luis Obispo County Beaver Festival in San Luis Obispo, CA, to celebrate beavers and the benefits they bring to our county. The Beaver Festival includes live music, educational talks, kids’ activities, vendors, and more.

Beaver Management and Coexistence
We connect landowners to resources for managing problematic beaver activity and beaver-human coexistence strategies.
Salinas River Center
We are partnering with Ecologistics to develop a Salinas River Center in Atascadero to highlight and elevate the importance of the health of the Salinas River. This project is still in development. Stay tuned for updates!
